   Safeguarding the Rights of Refugees and Migrants along Mediterranean Migration Routes

   The Mediterranean remains a focal point for refugees and asylum seekers fleeing conflict, persecution, and instability in search of safety and a better future. However, these routes present significant dangers, exposing individuals to life-threatening journeys, human trafficking, exploitation, and violence. Limited access to safe migration pathways and adequate protection continues to leave many vulnerable to human rights violations.

   This committee will address the challenges refugees and migrants face along Mediterranean migration routes, examining the role of international organizations and the responsibilities of countries of origin, transit, and destination.

   Delegates will explore ways to improve access to safe and legal migration routes, strengthen international cooperation, and balance national interests with international humanitarian obligations while safeguarding the fundamental rights and dignity of those seeking protection.
