Putin's First cabinet
The time of the Soviet Union was over when Mikhail Gorbachev, head of state of Soviet Union, resigned when he handed out his powers to the first President of Russian Federation, Boris Yeltsin. During the dissolution of the Soviet Union, 15 countries declared their independence. Russian Federation, the largest among all of them, faced a state of recession and post-communist trauma; losing the first Chechen war in 1996. In 1999 Yeltsin designated a new prime minister, Vladimir Putin, a former KGB agent. While previous Russian government failed to deal with these issues, the year is 1999, and a second war is afoot in Chechnya. Will Mr. Putin’s First Cabinet manage to succeed in dealing with these issues, bringing their old Mother Russia to her former glory; or will they be the bringers of a Second Dissolution?
