After the end of World War 2, the world was split into two: East and West. This marked the beginning of an era called the Cold War. During the first years of the Cold War Germany itself was split in two as Federal Republic of Germany and German Democratic Republic, commonly referred to as West Germany and East Germany respectively. As the tension between the blocs of the world grew higher a tightly held and closed border formation called the Iron Curtain was set, separating European countries and citizens, This formation reached its peak with erection of the Berlin Wall a construction that literally split the city of Berlin in half and separated families overnight and remained so for the next 3 decades to come.
At the last quarter of the 20th century with the end of the Cold War in sight, The Iron Curtain itself is starting to falter and tensions seem to grow higher. Join us in a unique experience to see the reunification of a nation and the end of an era of caution and distress.
